Sunday 24th May at 7pm
Join us for an intimate acoustic evening with piper, singer and instrument designer Donald WG Lindsay and fiddler Roo Geddes, as part of a short Hebridean run marking the opening of Lindsay’s touring exhibition Dreaming Pipes: Ten Years of the Lindsay System.
Smallpipes, voice, fiddle and piano come together in a close-listening programme of songs, slow airs and tune sets, drawing on traditional melody, new writing, and material from the duo’s forthcoming album Honeymoon Bridge. You’ll also hear music from their 2025 release Two Boats Under the Moon — five stars in BBC Music Magazine, four stars in Songlines and The Scotsman.
At the heart of it all is the Lindsay System itself: Donald’s extended-range, keyless Scottish smallpipe design, now played widely across contemporary folk, experimental and film music.
A rare chance to hear two exceptional musicians up close in our wonderful space.
