Dachaigh ùr
’S e iomairt chompàirteachaidh eadar Ceòlas Uibhist agus UHI Innse Gall (bho 1 An Lùnastal is e UHI A Tuath, An Iar is Innse Gall an t-ainm aca) a th’ ann an Cnoc Soilleir. Suidhichte sa choimhearsnachd as treasa sa Ghàidhlig, brosnaichidh an t-ionad dualchas agus cànan Gàidhlig na coimhearsnachd.
’S e amas a’ phròiseict ionad a stèidheachadh air Cnoc Soilleir ann an Dalabrog, le goireasan air an dealbhachadh a dh’aona-ghnothach airson feumalachdan foghlaim UHI Innse Gall agus tachartasan coimhearsnachd Ceòlas timcheall air ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig, dualchas, cultar, ceòl is dannsa Gàidhealach.
Cnoc Soilleir is an exciting joint venture between Ceòlas Uibhist and UHI Outer Hebrides (merger complete 1st August 2023 and now known as UHI North, West and Hebrides). Located in the Gaelic heartland of South Uist, Cnoc Soilleir will promote and celebrate the community’s Gaelic cultural heritage.
The project will establish a new focal building at Cnoc Soilleir (the placename meaning “the bright hill”) in Daliburgh, with facilities that have been designed to meet the needs of both UHI Outer Hebrides’s educational programmes, and Ceòlas’ community-led activities around Gaelic language learning, heritage, culture, music and dance.
